Vision of the Seas may be one of Royal Caribbean’s smaller ships. Whether you’re searching for the best place to relax, grab a bite to eat, enjoy live music, or simply find a quiet spot with ocean views, this guide will help you get the most out of your cruise. This ship has two sets of elevators. The food in the main dining room was above par! The staff on this ship was great! One item we had never experienced before our stateroom did not have a beverage cooler. We have been on other Royal Caribbean ships, so this was a surprise, as we had a medical need for one and were able to go to guest services. Lesson learned: now I will always do more research because I had not read anywhere that this was the case.

Things to Do
- Try your luck in the casino. There is also a bar within the casino that was somewhat underutilised.
- Book shore excursions or ask Guest Services for assistance.
- Take a relaxing walk along the outdoor promenade and enjoy ocean views.
- The middle upper section in the theater was my favourite place to watch show!
Hidden Gem: The outdoor promenade is one of the best places on the ship for sail-away, whale watching (depending on itinerary), or simply enjoying the sea breeze without the crowds. I really loved this area, however, one side of the deck does allow smoking and I wish there were seating.

Key Venues
- Main Pool
- Solarium (Adults Only)
- Whirlpools
- Windjammer Marketplace
- Park Café
- Vitality Spa
Things to Do
- Swim or relax poolside. The seating around the pool had lots of shaded options.
- Unwind in the adults-only Solarium. This was a nice space but did not have much seating in my opinion. The chairs in this area were a lot more comfortable.
- Grab breakfast or lunch at the Windjammer buffet. The buffet area was smaller than I expected. During normal dining hours, it was sometimes difficult to find seating. The food was decent; at breakfast, the donuts were my kids’ favorite. I was disappointed they did not ever have chocolate chip cookies in the dessert area. The only place I was able to find them was at the coffee shop.
- Stop by Park Café for sandwiches, salads, pizza, and snacks. This was one of the strangest setups I have ever seen, it was on the back side of the Solarium. It very much seemed like an afterthought; the lines got long in the evening.
- Treat yourself to a massage or facial at the spa.
- Watch movies or enjoy poolside activities hosted by the cruise staff.
Hidden Gem: The Solarium offers one of the quietest places onboard to read, nap, or soak in the whirlpool while enjoying panoramic ocean views.

Good to Know: Vision of the Seas focuses on classic cruise fun rather than mega-ship attractions like waterslides or surf simulators. The kids and teen spaces are very small. Our cruise had over 400 kids and there was just not enough space for them all.

My Favorite Places on Vision of the Seas
If I had to narrow it down, these are the spots I would visit every day:
- Best Sunset: Viking Crown Lounge (Deck 11)
- Best Quiet Spot: Solarium (Deck 9)
- Best Included Food: Park Café
- Best Specialty Restaurant: Chops Grille
- Best Live Music: Schooner Bar
- Best Ocean Views: Outdoor Promenade on Deck 5
- Best People Watching: Centrum
- Best Morning Coffee Spot: Windjammer outdoor seating
- Best Evening Walk: Deck 5 Outdoor Promenade
Although Vision of the Seas doesn’t offer the endless attractions found on Royal Caribbean’s newest ships, its smaller size makes it incredibly easy to navigate. Within just a day or two you’ll know your way around, recognize familiar crew members, and discover your own favorite hidden corners—one of the reasons so many cruisers return to this classic ship again and again. We have sailed on a few smaller ships and while it does not offer all of the bells and whistles of larger ships have but we enjoyed our ports of call from this ship.
