I hesitated buying the Otterbox FRE Waterproof case before our upcoming vacation because of the price but let me tell you it’s 100% worth the money. You might enjoy this case as a daily driver if you’re ok with a bit of a bulky case that offers significant protection against drops, sand, water, and other elements of every day life.
Even if you’re not looking at this as a daily case, like me, it’s still worth the investment. I purchased the case on day 1 of our vacation because I wanted to get underwater pictures of my kids. I was nervous about bringing it into the ocean but it held up perfectly.
As instructed on the box, I did test the case and phone in a sink before subjecting them to the Caribbean Sea which helped quell my initial fears. I couldn’t imagine ruining my phone early on in a two week vacation – heaven forbid I’m disconnected for that long!
The phone did great during our snorkeling session. Otterbox says the case is waterproof up to 1 hour so I tried to keep the phone above water whenever possible but even when underwater for 15-20 minutes at a time, my phone was still bone dry.
Because of the Otterbox FRE Waterproof case, I was able to get some awesome pictures of my kids on their first snorkeling expeditions and some great pictures of the marine life in Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk. Check out some of the great underwater pictures below.
Whether you’re looking for a daily driver with maximum protection or a waterproof case for a specific outing the Otterbox FRE Waterproof case is a great buy.
