Kids programs on the ships are an amazing way for kids to find an outlet for energy and for parents to take a break. Listen, vacations are supposed to be all about getting to relax and spend time with family. Give yourself a break and let the kids spend some time in the kids programs.
Many major lines offer care for infants 6 months and older all the way up to teen programs. Parents can sign waivers giving permission for care, during embarkation day there is a set time for kids to go explore and parents to ask questions and get acquainted with the process for their ship. Some lines you must register before boarding. Infant programs can vary from one line to the next so make sure you know what your ship offers before you book. Older kids can be given permission to come and go from the clubs as they want. Younger kids will need to be picked up with your room card and ID.
Ships have lots of fun activities, games, special activities for kids to go and have fun with other kids their age. Last summer my kids spent some time at the kids club, one of their favorite things they got to do was spend some special time at the Flow Rider just for the kids that were part of Kids Club. Parents had to have already signed waivers for the ride but they got to spend a couple hours with just their age group of kids. For younger kids there were lots of special things for them to do as well. Does your kid love crafts, story time, characters, games? All of this and more is offered to kids of all ages. They will even reserve seats at some of the shows for kids to attend with friends from the clubs.
