Disney Skyliner: Everything You Need to Know!

The Disney Skyliner opened on September 29, 2019, and is an increasingly popular way of getting around Disney property. The skyliners connect 2 Disney World Parks and 4 Disney hotels, with stations just a short walking distance to other popular attractions. The skyliners are one of our favorite ways to traverse Disney property. Because of the skyliners we always combine Disney’s Hollywood Studios with EPCOT. The skyliners make it incredibly easy to hop between those two parks and they provide a nice 15-20 minutes to sit and relax – something you need to plan to do especially during the hot Spring and Summer months in Orlando Florida.

What Parks are Connected to the Disney Skyliner?

Currently only 2 parks have skyliner stations at them – Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. The station at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is outside of the main entrance close to the bus loading and unloading area. Hollywood Studios also features transportation via bus, boat, and walking (between some parks or Disney’s Boardwalk).

The skyliner station at EPCOT is located in the back of the park. If you’re starting your trip around the world in Canada, you can find the skyliner entrance between the Great Britain and France pavilions. Before crossing over the bridge that connects Great Britain and France, veer off to the right and down a small hill. At the bottom of the hill you will find a second entrance/exit to the park. Right outside this entrance you will find the skyliner station.

What Disney Resorts are Connected to the Disney Skyliner?

As of summer 2023, only 4 Disney hotels are accessible via the skyliner – Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort. In fact, there are 2 different stations available for those staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort.

The Caribbean Beach Resort station is near the parking lot entrance which can be quite the walk for guests staying in rooms or villas near Disney’s Riviera Resort. The Riviera Resort is built more UP than OUT, so it’s pretty quick to cut across the backside of the resort from the Caribbean Beach Resort and get to the station if you’re staying closer to that side of the Caribbean Beach Resort.

Additionally, several Disney resorts are just a short walk from one of the skyliner stations. These include Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. If you want to stay close to the skyliner but either can’t, or don’t want to stay at one of the 4 resorts that has a connected station, I highly recommend checking these options out.

Does the Skyliner Cost Money?

Nope! Not a dime! You can board the skyliner from any of the resorts or parks even without a park ticket. You could, for example, take a bus from Disney Springs to one of the connected resorts, then hop on the skyliner and head to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. There are no buses that go direct from Disney Springs to any of the four parks because Disney doesn’t want people to park at Disney Springs (which is free) and leave their car there while they visit a park (which does cost money).

Is the Skyliner Really Worth It?

For us, the answer is yes. Every time we visit Walt Disney World, we take the skyliner at least once or twice roundtrip. We almost always pair EPCOT with Hollywood Studios because of the ease of taking the skyliner between the 2 parks. No fighting traffic, no full busses, no driving your car between the parks, just hop on the ever-moving skyliner, relax and take in the views of Disney’s Property.

Is There a Height/Age Requirement to Ride the Skyliner?

While there is no height or age requirement, and strollers are allowed inside the gondolas, children under 7 years old must be accompanied by a chaperone. Chaperones can be anyone over the age of 14.

Are Strollers & Wheelchairs Permitted on the Skyliner?

Yes! While most boarding takes place while the gondolas are slowly moving through the station, they do have stationary options for guests who need more time or more stability to enter the skyliner.
